recent purchases & reviews

It's been a minute since my last post! I've been overwhelmed with these last few weeks of school that I've cut back on social media A  LOT. While I have been busy with school and the hubby coming home from deployment soon, I wanted to hop on here and say hi and share a bunch of my recent purchases with you guys that I love.

1. "Better than Sex" mascara by Too Faced. I've been wanting to try this for the longest time, and finally jumped on it and I am so glad that I did. It's SO GOOD. I've tried "similar" mascaras that were comparable to this one but nothing can beat this one, believe me! It has a "heavy" feel to it, which I love, and also the brush just feels amazing. I think I just found my new holy grail mascara!

2. shorts - I'm all about a good splurge on demin! These are great shorts. They're comfortable, loose fit, and don't make you feel like a busted can of biscuits after a meal ;) They range from $16.99-$55

top: 1, 2
bottom: 1, 2, 3
blush bow slides: here

3. Sneakers: Nike Epic React. The hubby ordered these for us. It was a nice surprise to come home to. They're really nice! I can't wait to wear them with him ;) I also recently got these, (forgot to snap a pic) but they're also really great for running.

4. Ruffle eyelet tank: How cute is this tank?!  I love it!!! It also comes in two other colors which will probably also end up in my closet. I am really loving the eyelet/gingham trend right now, so cute! (wearing a small but should got XS)

5. SheIn finds: I honestly love everything that I have ordered from SheIn. I've never had a bad experience. Just make sure to read the reviews to get an idea on sizing and you'll be fine. The blue embroidered blouse was new, which meant it had no reviews, so based on the size chart posted I went with a small and it worked out well. As for the pink off the shoulder blouse - I have this same blouse in baby blue, and based on the sizing reviews I went with a medium and it fits great. I love it. It's a cute, fun top for the summer that I will pair with shorts, and jeans. The fabric is on the thick side, meaning it doesn't feel "cheap". I've ordered similar blouses that were a lot thinner and just felt cheap. Not this one.

6. Basic tees: These are the Universal Thread basic tees ($8! sometimes 3/$20) To me, they run big. I got my normal size (small) but could have easily done an extra small. I like my tees on the baggy side, especially so I can do a cute side knot like this one. I got green, red, and black.

I also switched up my hair color. I usually do a year on/off with the balayage, and i just hit that one year so it was time to switch it up. I love having blonde in my hair, but since my hair is so dark, it doesn't hold up very well after a while. The color starts looking more "golden" and it drives me nuts.

Those are all I have at the moment! This weekend will be spent doing homework (surprise, surprise), and maybe a trip to the nail salon. It's been a reaaallllly long time since I've gotten my nails done and I kinda want to start getting them done again. Do you get your nails done? What do you get done exactly - acrylic, or gel? I'd love to hear your suggestions!

I hope you all have a great week/weekend.
